In the 6th minute Alex Deinse shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filip Mirciulescu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the BVB 09 defense, Wesley van Rhijn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Filip Mirciulescu. The BVB 09 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filip Mirciulescu should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Decathlon Dudes getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. After a rather tough play, Decathlon Dudes's Henry van Dam got a free kick in the 31st minute. Gerrit Kemper made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Morovan in the 34th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Wesley van Rhijn notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of BVB 09's Filip Mirciulescu. Filip Mirciulescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in BVB 09's zone, Felix Janus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Filip Mirciulescu came out of the goal and Felix Janus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alex Deinse to make the kick off. When Felix Janus fell near the penalty area in the 50th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Decathlon Dudes's protests and gave Felix Janus a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of BVB 09 booed when Decathlon Dudes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Janus didn't get a good kick on the ball. Filip Mirciulescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arjan Robben in the 53rd minute of play. After 81 minutes of play, Decathlon Dudes's Wesley van Rhijn made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Filip Mirciulescu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Alex Deinse sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. BVB 09's Filip Mirciulescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wesley van Rhijn in the 97th minute of play.
