After a rather tough play, Seagulls's Harm Meinders got a free kick in the 9th minute. Jan-Joost Smeekes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Celestino Toro in the 10th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Celestino Toro put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Jan-Joost Smeekes. Anier Oidor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralf Talsma, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celedonio Cordareo in the 26th minute of play forced Seagulls's goalkeeper Jan-Joost Smeekes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Victor Belmiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jan-Joost Smeekes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delmiro Tabor, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 39 minutes into the game, San Lorenzo's Celedonio Cordareo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Delmiro Tabor scored 0-6 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jan-Joost Smeekes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jan-Joost Smeekes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Freddy Izel in the 56th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Celedonio Cordareo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jan-Joost Smeekes. That made the score 0-7 in the 58 minute of play. Delmiro Tabor scored 0-8 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jan-Joost Smeekes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 67th minute, Freddy Izel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan-Joost Smeekes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-9. Jan-Joost Smeekes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celestino Toro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. San Lorenzo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celedonio Cordareo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 76 minutes into the match, Delmiro Tabor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jan-Joost Smeekes. Seagulls's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Delmiro Tabor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-10. The audience thought a goal was coming when Delmiro Tabor got free with Jan-Joost Smeekes in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 92nd minute, Celedonio Cordareo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jan-Joost Smeekes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-12. Jan-Joost Smeekes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celedonio Cordareo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Seagulls fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. San Lorenzo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
