An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Miguel in the 11th minute of play forced San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Matias Carlomagno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Penuel Football Club's corner Jorge-Luis Borges fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Matias Carlomagno quite easily take care of the ball. The score was now 0-2. 58 minutes into the match, Penuel Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Mo Yi Sang came free, but Epifanio Gabrio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. San Lorenzo were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Penuel Football Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gigi Penaru took the corner. When Bartoleme Villasante fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penuel Football Club's protests and gave Bartoleme Villasante a yellow card for diving instead. In the 61st minute, one of Penuel Football Club:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Penuel Football Club. The referee gave San Lorenzo a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Mo Yi Sang, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Penuel Football Club's Epifanio Gabrio. 1-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nando Pereira got free with Matias Carlomagno in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo's Kara Melo got a free kick in the 78th minute. Epifanio Gabrio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mo Yi Sang in the 87th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Penuel Football Club's zone, Mo Yi Sang stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Epifanio Gabrio came out of the goal and Mo Yi Sang tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Penuel Football Club's Nando Pereira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Matias Carlomagno. That made the score 1-3 after 93 minutes of play. The Penuel Football Club players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
