Jerome Förster fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joseph Bamberger having to interfere. 13 minutes into the game, Felix Schmitz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Kartoffeln auf die 1's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Horsham United the free kick. After a defensive mix-up in FC Kartoffeln auf die 1's zone, Julien Drachmann stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hippolyt Straub came out of the goal and Julien Drachmann tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patrick Lützel's late challenge caught a FC Kartoffeln auf die 1's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Patrick Lützel helped the player get up and apologised. Patrick Lützel hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Kartoffeln auf die 1's zone, Christof Wagner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hippolyt Straub came out of the goal and Christof Wagner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Felix Schmitz was shown his second yellow card after 29 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, FC Kartoffeln auf die 1's Felix Schmitz got a free kick in the 29th minute. Christof Wagner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Hippolyt Straub tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Louis Hundhammer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Horsham United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 37thth minute of the game Julien Drachmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Kartoffeln auf die 1's Hippolyt Straub was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 42 played minutes FC Kartoffeln auf die 1 got a freekick which was hit by Ben Bouffier. If Jerome Förster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 47 minutes, Oscar Hasenkamp managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Horsham United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oscar Hasenkamp was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jerome Förster was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, FC Kartoffeln auf die 1's Josef Bartsch nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joseph Bamberger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Horsham United's Joseph Bamberger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josef Bartsch in the 77th minute of play. Louis Hundhammer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Hippolyt Straub tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jerome Förster kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. After 82 minutes of play, Horsham United's Louis Hundhammer made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hippolyt Straub was left in no man's land by his defense there! 86 minutes into the game, Maximilian Walch was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After 86 played minutes Horsham United got a freekick which was hit by Maximilian Walch. If Jerome Förster had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FC Kartoffeln auf die 1's Josef Bartsch got a free kick in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute Jerome Förster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Bamberger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute, Louis Hundhammer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Julien Drachmann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Hippolyt Straub tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC Kartoffeln auf die 1 fans cheered their team off the field, for while Horsham United had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
