Boyisani Nkadimeng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Akamadu Oke, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the game, Akamadu Oke cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Boyisani Nkadimeng was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 11 minutes, Habakkuk Isibor mouthed his way into the referee's book. Hendon's supporters rose to their feet, but Habakkuk Isibor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Boyisani Nkadimeng breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mawetu Mufadi kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hendon's goalkeeper Jushua Sati Tunde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Nkosi Thompson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maqwathini's supporters rose to their feet, but Nkosi Thompson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jushua Sati Tunde breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Maqwathini's zone, Habakkuk Isibor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Boyisani Nkadimeng came out of the goal and Habakkuk Isibor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Habakkuk Isibor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Boyisani Nkadimeng having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nkosi Thompson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 62nd minute, Ajay Agidani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jushua Sati Tunde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nkosi Thompson, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Habakkuk Isibor who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Boyisani Nkadimeng when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Nkosi Thompson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jushua Sati Tunde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maxwell Mufadi in the 73rd minute of play. Okagbue Ojonugwa kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Hendon's goal looked a bit too open when Nkosi Thompson came free, but Jushua Sati Tunde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxwell Mufadi in the 81st minute of play forced Hendon's goalkeeper Jushua Sati Tunde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 82 played minutes Hendon got a freekick which was hit by Tunde Udbeide. Habakkuk Isibors short, quick shot in the 85thth minute got Boyisani Nkadimeng to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 89th minute, Habakkuk Isibor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
