Habo Grindavík's Betúel Jósefsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 9th minute of the match, managed to save Habo Grindavík from getting a goal against them. 15 minutes into the game, Snæbjörn Ellertsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Habo Grindavík's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Küstorf the free kick. Snæbjörn Ellertsson kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Mustafa Spindler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geirarður Knútsson's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Geirarður Knútsson put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Mustafa Spindler. Mustafa Spindler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geirarður Knútsson in the 24th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Geirarður Knútsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Mustafa Spindler was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. 28 minutes into the match, Habo Grindavík's goal looked a bit too open when Loris Strasser came free, but Betúel Jósefsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Küstorf's zone, Barri Hauksson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mustafa Spindler came out of the goal and Barri Hauksson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tristan Elgert's late challenge caught a Habo Grindavík's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tristan Elgert helped the player get up and apologised. Tristan Elgert hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Mustafa Spindler stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Geirarður Knútsson's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the match, Geirarður Knútsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Mustafa Spindler. Küstorf's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geirarður Knútsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Habo Grindavík's Geirarður Knútsson got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Robert Schowanek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fjörnir Guðbjartsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 51 minutes into the match, Küstorf's goal looked a bit too open when Fjörnir Guðbjartsson came free, but Mustafa Spindler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Habo Grindavík getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. After a defensive mix-up in Küstorf's zone, Geirarður Knútsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mustafa Spindler came out of the goal and Geirarður Knútsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Safír Geislason had several of the Küstorf's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 75 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-5 score and a disappointed Mustafa Spindler as he didn't even see the shot coming. Safír Geislason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mustafa Spindler having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Ásmar Bjarmarsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Betúel Jósefsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loris Strasser in the 88th minute of the match. Habo Grindavík's Safír Geislason got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Safír Geislason in the 93rd minute of play forced Küstorf's goalkeeper Mustafa Spindler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute of the match Habo Grindavík got a corner. Küstorf's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Geirarður Knútsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Loris Strasser kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Geirarður Knútsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Mustafa Spindler made a huge save. The Habo Grindavík supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Habo Grindavík would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
