Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Gernando Azevedo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Haji Sarap was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. João Carlos Lucas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanildo Luis, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. A collision led to Los Andes FC - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Gustavo Scarpa hit a great ball. Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's João Carlos Lucas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Los Andes FC - FSCMZ from getting a goal against them. João Francisco Arce received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. João Carlos Lucas came out and tried to block the shot, but João Francisco Arce slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 24th minute. Gernando Azevedo took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Haji Sarap. Haji Sarap dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Karsten Ulbak made in the 42nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Los Andes FC - FSCMZ's Gustavo Scarpa. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Joinville City - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Haji Sarap, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gernando Azevedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Haji Sarap showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gernando Azevedo in the 53rd minute of the match. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Haji Sarap played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gernando Azevedo in the 57th minute of play. Los Andes FC - FSCMZ were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Joinville City - FSCMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Arjen Robben took the corner. Joinville City - FSCMZ's Marcus Allbäck was substituted for Geovanildo Luis. Gernando Azevedo hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match.
