Ramón Furtado started the match with the kick off. Dmytro Novak showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Robinho Urbano in the 4th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henry Costa in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dmytro Novak saved Flamengo FSCMZ from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Henry Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dmytro Novak was relentless in the 5th minute of the game. Capibaribe Stars were awarded a corner in the 6th minute after Flamengo FSCMZ's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Wilton Fontes took the corner. After taking down the ball on Capibaribe Stars's corner Wilton Fontes fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dmytro Novak quite easily take care of the ball. Dmytro Novak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robinho Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robinho Urbano got free with Dmytro Novak in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Flamengo FSCMZ booed when Capibaribe Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albino Gaskon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Ramón Furtado made a precise shot to the right of Thomás Toscano. Capibaribe Stars's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Stefan Banaszak's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thomás Toscano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute Flamengo FSCMZ were awarded a corner. Marcus de Godoi went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Capibaribe Stars's goalie and right to Stefan Banaszak. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Capibaribe Stars's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. In the 24th minute Henry Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dmytro Novak saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dmytro Novak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robinho Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. After 28 minutes Flamengo FSCMZ's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Wilton Fontes who took care of the corner kick. If Henry Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 31 minutes of play, Capibaribe Stars's Robinho Urbano made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dmytro Novak was left in no man's land by his defense there! 36 minutes into the match, Capibaribe Stars's goal looked a bit too open when Stefan Banaszak came free, but Thomás Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomás Toscano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Banaszak in the 38th minute of the match. Flamengo FSCMZ's Maurinho Meira quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lothar Matthäus, made in the 39th minute of the game. In the 44th minute of the game Albino Gaskon made a throw-in which Hicham Al Azka played forward. Flamengo FSCMZ's Dmytro Novak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Henry Costa in the 45th minute of play. Robinho Urbano scored 2-1 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dmytro Novak, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henry Costa made a kick off. The supporters of Capibaribe Stars booed when Flamengo FSCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus de Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute, Henry Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dmytro Novak was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. A collision led to Flamengo FSCMZ getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Stefan Banaszak hit a great ball. In the 97th minute of the match Mihnea Zamfir shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dmytro Novak showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Flóki Factor took the ball and in the 98 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dmytro Novak. Dmytro Novak dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-1. Capibaribe Stars walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
