Xofre Astola came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by DINAMO's David Greblă. But to his dismay, David Greblă quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The DINAMO fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when DINAMO's Eugen Bobocea looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duardo Bolantin in the 10th minute of play forced DINAMO's goalkeeper Horea Hurmuzache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horea Hurmuzache took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdo Manurga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xofre Astola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelian Cozac, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Adam Rednic notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Borussia Dortmund's Xofre Astola. Xofre Astola was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 20th minute, Bela Reynoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Borussia Dortmund defense, Adam Rednic kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Xofre Astola. The Borussia Dortmund fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xofre Astola should have stopped the shot. Borussia Dortmund's Xofre Astola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugen Bobocea in the 29th minute of play. After 33 played minutes Borussia Dortmund got a freekick which was hit by Filipe Zaballos. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Duardo Bolantin took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Horea Hurmuzache to make any attempt to save it. In the 44th minute Duardo Bolantin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horea Hurmuzache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horea Hurmuzache acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 47th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Artizar Vede. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Adam Rednic made the kick off in the second half. Bela Reynoso kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After some careless play in the DINAMO defense, Estebano Reganado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horea Hurmuzache. The DINAMO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horea Hurmuzache should have stopped the shot. Horea Hurmuzache made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duardo Bolantin in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute Duardo Bolantin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horea Hurmuzache saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 67 minutes into the match, Duardo Bolantin notched a goal, 3-4, to the right of DINAMO's Horea Hurmuzache. Horea Hurmuzache was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duardo Bolantin in the 71st minute of play forced DINAMO's goalkeeper Horea Hurmuzache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Duardo Bolantin succeeded in the game's 73rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-4. When Duardo Bolantin came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Borussia Dortmund fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duardo Bolantin couldn't finish the play. In the 83rd minute, Filipe Zaballos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Estebano Reganado in the 84th minute of play forced DINAMO's goalkeeper Horea Hurmuzache to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horea Hurmuzache showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duardo Bolantin in the 86th minute of the match. 88 minutes into the game, Borussia Dortmund's Valdo Manurga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Horea Hurmuzache made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-4. 92 minutes into the match, DINAMO's goal looked a bit too open when Estebano Reganado came free, but Horea Hurmuzache reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xofre Astola made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Rednic in the 95th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the DINAMO players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Borussia Dortmund.
