Benedito Tande made a great header on Jovens Democratas MZC's corner, it was just that Barcellos Mineiro FC's Gil Coelho managed to reach the ball for a save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulinho Fonseca to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedrinho Cavalcante in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gil Coelho saved Barcellos Mineiro FC from getting behind. Gil Coelho was a little too slow when Aílton Sousa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 1-1. In the 58th match minute, Barcellos Mineiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Umberto Queiroz to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, Galo Mineiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 63 minutes into the game, Paulinho Fonseca was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jovens Democratas MZC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Barcellos Mineiro FC the free kick.
