Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Charis Droumalias to make the kick off. Garanhão do SUL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romão Miranda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Garanhão do SUL's Silvério Sabrosa got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 61 minutes into the game, Artur Curado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Garanhão do SUL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Seahawks V55 the free kick.
