Odysseus De Souza started the match with the kick off. 8 minutes into the match, FC Lugano's goalkeeper Max Sevier had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jimmie Kilberg. 12 minutes into the match, Albert Skröder dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Max Sevier, 1-0. 23 minutes into the match, Fedor Adler had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Brian Stenman. BK Tåfjutt's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fedor Adler was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Brian Stenman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Odysseus De Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute Matteo Gartenmann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brian Stenman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Max Sevier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jack Jönsson in the 34th minute. After 38 minutes, Odysseus De Souza made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. BK Tåfjutt's Brian Stenman tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. FC Lugano's Tiziano Gamache was substituted for Matteo Gartenmann. After 43 played minutes BK Tåfjutt got a freekick which was hit by Stig Sjögren. In the 44th minute of the match Stephen Witschard sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brian Stenman skillfully saved the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Odysseus De Souza came free with the goalkeeper in the 51st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Brian Stenman could save by the left post. In the 53rd minute Walter Sundström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Sevier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Lugano made a substitution. Guido Emennegger replaced Fidelio Haller. 59 minutes into the match, FC Lugano's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Skröder came free, but Max Sevier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jack Jönsson in the 60th minute of play forced FC Lugano's goalkeeper Max Sevier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Walter Sundström managed to get in a good position for a shot. BK Tåfjutt's supporters rose to their feet, but Walter Sundström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Max Sevier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 70th minute, Stig Sjögren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brian Stenman was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Stephen Witschard. The audience thought a goal was coming when Odysseus De Souza got free with Brian Stenman in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tiziano Gamache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Brian Stenman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Max Sevier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jack Jönsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 91st minute Jimmie Kilberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Max Sevier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Lugano eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
