Aron Mitruț was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Cosula-BTF-'s players had a chance to rest. The corner led FC Cosula-BTF-'s Aron Mitruț to fire away a dangerous shot which Ivan Adamčík despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Petruț Dugulescu struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Ivan Adamčík didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Cosula-BTF-. 15 minutes into the game, Olimpiu Teodorescu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Ivan Adamčík was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The FC Cosula-BTF- fans' excitement grew in the 18th match minute when FC Cosula-BTF-'s Olimpiu Teodorescu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of FC Cosula-BTF- booed when AFK Petržalka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mário Klein didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Olimpiu Teodorescu came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the FC Cosula-BTF- fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olimpiu Teodorescu couldn't finish the play. Tomáš Nickler kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, FC Cosula-BTF-'s Olimpiu Teodorescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ivan Adamčík narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ivan Adamčík took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olimpiu Teodorescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Olimpiu Teodorescu in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Adamčík prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Olimpiu Teodorescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Ivan Adamčík made a huge save. AFK Petržalka's Klement Dupal was substituted for Tibor Barmoš. After taking down the ball on FC Cosula-BTF-'s corner Aron Mitruț fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ivan Adamčík quite easily take care of the ball. In the 72nd minute of the match AFK Petržalka got a corner. FC Cosula-BTF-'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Viktor Pištovič ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on AFK Petržalka's corner Mário Klein fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ilie Brumaru quite easily take care of the ball. In the 74th match minute, FC Cosula-BTF- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Neicu to maneuver through the defense. After 76 played minutes FC Cosula-BTF- got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Neicu. After a rather tough play, AFK Petržalka's Mário Klein got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 86th minute, Klement Dupal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AFK Petržalka fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Basarab Seremet hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched FC Cosula-BTF- eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
