The audience thought a goal was coming when Rick Kile got free with Raimundo Delgado in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 12 minutes into the match, Patrício Poças had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Kile. AUSTRAL BOWLING CLUB's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patrício Poças was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 15th minute, Bruno Silva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bruno Silva hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute, Ralph Turner got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Garanhão do SUL's Raimundo Delgado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Garanhão do SUL from getting a goal against them. Romão Miranda took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised David Kile. David Kile dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Raimundo Delgado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rick Kile, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silvério Sabrosa struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. David Kile didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garanhão do SUL. 46 minutes into the game, Jenkins Turner was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AUSTRAL BOWLING CLUB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Garanhão do SUL the free kick. Garanhão do SUL's Álvaro Calçada was substituted for Romão Miranda. In the 48th match minute, AUSTRAL BOWLING CLUB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jenkins Turner to maneuver through the defense.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Álvaro Calçada to make the kick off. David Kile was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Álvaro Calçada showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 53 minute of play. AUSTRAL BOWLING CLUB's David Kile played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvério Sabrosa in the 56th minute of play. Garanhão do SUL's Patrício Poças got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute, Rick Kile left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The AUSTRAL BOWLING CLUB fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Rick Kile received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Raimundo Delgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. AUSTRAL BOWLING CLUB's Rick Kile managed to work through Garanhão do SUL's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Rick Kile dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 77th minute, Garanhão do SUL's Artur Curado dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. Raimundo Delgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rick Kile in the 85th minute of play. After 88 played minutes AUSTRAL BOWLING CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Everett Gissane. Patrício Poças received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. David Kile tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Garanhão do SUL supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Garanhão do SUL would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
