Raimundo Delgado came out of the goal and Olimpiu Teodorescu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 28th minute of the match, Petruț Dugulescu got a very nice opportunity to score, but Raimundo Delgado was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 29th match minute, FC Cosula-BTF- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petru Chirea to maneuver through the defense. Garanhão do SUL's Silvério Sabrosa got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FC Cosula-BTF-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romão Miranda was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Petru Chirea fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Cosula-BTF-'s protests and gave Petru Chirea a yellow card for diving instead. Petru Chirea kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After 42 played minutes, Garanhão do SUL's Gaspar Valadão shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ilie Brumaru came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Garanhão do SUL reached it. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romão Miranda stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd play minute Silvério Sabrosa came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Ilie Brumaru. 0-2. 58 minutes into the match, Garanhão do SUL's goal looked a bit too open when Olimpiu Teodorescu came free, but Raimundo Delgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute Silvério Sabrosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilie Brumaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Garanhão do SUL made a substitution. Filinto Coelho replaced Sílvio Moutinho. Luís Figo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ilie Brumaru was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Silvério Sabrosa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 82 minute of play. Artur Curado charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Artur Curado the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of FC Cosula-BTF- booed when Garanhão do SUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Curado didn't get a good kick on the ball. 90 minutes into the match, FC Cosula-BTF-'s Olimpiu Teodorescu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raimundo Delgado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aristides Brochado kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. When the match was over Garanhão do SUL could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Cosula-BTF- throughout the match.
