Gedeon Káposztás started the match with the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Denílson Tepedino in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andréas Linquist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Andréas Linquist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denílson Tepedino in the 6th minute of play. Jeremias Moreno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gedeon Káposztás in the 7th minute of the match. ADM Taquaras's Jeremias Moreno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gedeon Káposztás in the 9th minute of play. In the 17th minute Gedeon Káposztás shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Moreno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 18th minute of the game. One of Grêmio Papão de WC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of ADM Taquaras:s goal. Grêmio Papão de WC:s Andréas Linquist showed great skill when he stopped Malcolm Westerberg:s penalty. Denílson Tepedino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andréas Linquist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Denílson Tepedino in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andréas Linquist saved Grêmio Papão de WC from getting behind. Grêmio Papão de WC's Niklas Molander quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Olívio Meireles, made in the 34th minute of the game. 37 minutes into the game, Grêmio Papão de WC's Gedeon Káposztás nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jeremias Moreno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. A collision led to Grêmio Papão de WC getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Gedeon Káposztás hit a great ball. The long shot by Malcolm Westerberg in the 41st minute really tested Andréas Linquist's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Grêmio Papão de WC's zone, Denílson Tepedino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andréas Linquist came out of the goal and Denílson Tepedino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half Grêmio Papão de WC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

ADM Taquaras's Áron Bódog was substituted for Zaquiel Puredo. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Áron Bódog stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 60th minute of the match ADM Taquaras got a corner. Grêmio Papão de WC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Áron Bódog ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gedeon Káposztás could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Jeremias Moreno made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denílson Tepedino in the 65th minute of play forced Grêmio Papão de WC's goalkeeper Andréas Linquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeremias Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gedeon Káposztás, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gedeon Káposztás in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. In the 75th match minute, ADM Taquaras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cléber Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. ADM Taquaras made a substitution. Nestor Soeiro replaced Cesar Quinto. 84 minutes into the match, Grêmio Papão de WC's goal looked a bit too open when Áron Bódog came free, but Andréas Linquist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute of the match ADM Taquaras got a corner. Grêmio Papão de WC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Soeiro in the 97th minute of play forced Grêmio Papão de WC's goalkeeper Andréas Linquist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see ADM Taquaras lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
