In the 13th minute Tiburcio Marques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horaţiu Petran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nildo Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fırat Aytekin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zoltán Varga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Erwin Bienvenu came free, but Fırat Aytekin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiburcio Marques recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Fırat Aytekin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zoltán Varga in the 25th minute. Gyál United's Horaţiu Petran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nildo Rosa in the 26th minute of play. Horaţiu Petran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nildo Rosa in the 28th minute of play. Fırat Aytekin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Breckenfeld in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zoltán Varga in the 34th minute of play forced S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Fırat Aytekin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zoltán Varga in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fırat Aytekin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 36 minutes into the match, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Fırat Aytekin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zoltán Varga. Tiburcio Marques might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Horaţiu Petran. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiburcio Marques ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Marques in the 38th minute of play forced Gyál United's goalkeeper Horaţiu Petran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fırat Aytekin made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Január Csillag sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zoltán Varga got free with Fırat Aytekin in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 47 played minutes Gyál United got a freekick which was hit by Deivid Trigo. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Tiburcio Marques made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Walmir Breckenfeld ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fırat Aytekin was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Fırat Aytekin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zoltán Varga in the 58th minute of play. Ignác Mayer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Fırat Aytekin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Deivid Trigo made in the 61st minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Konstantinos Kroustallis. After a rather tough play, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Doğuhan Alpaslan got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Fırat Aytekin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zoltán Varga in the 63rd minute of play. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Tiburcio Marques took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Horaţiu Petran to make any attempt to save it. S.C. Horaţiu Petran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiburcio Marques in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gyál United's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Doğuhan Alpaslan was slow to take the kick. During this time S.C. Corinthians Paulista's players had a chance to rest. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Doğuhan Alpaslan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Horaţiu Petran in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Horaţiu Petran made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Dé Töpper sent off a good shot on target. Horaţiu Petran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dé Töpper in the 94th minute of play. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
