Horaţiu Petran was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Tiburcio Marques showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. With his leg Horaţiu Petran managed to avoid a goal in the 8thth minute, when S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Tiburcio Marques fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Fırat Aytekin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Konstantinos Kroustallis, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. In the 13th minute Zoltán Varga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fırat Aytekin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute, Tiburcio Marques reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Horaţiu Petran. The goal made the score 2-0. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gyál United's goalkeeper Horaţiu Petran, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gyál United's Horaţiu Petran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Gyál United from getting a goal against them. Horaţiu Petran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiburcio Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Tiburcio Marques kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Horaţiu Petran. That made the score 3-0 in the 24 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Konstantinos Kroustallis in the 27th minute of play forced S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Fırat Aytekin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiburcio Marques's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horaţiu Petran read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Doğuhan Alpaslan in the 31st minute. A nice corner shot did that Doğuhan Alpaslan got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Horaţiu Petran quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fırat Aytekin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Breckenfeld in the 35th minute of play. Tiburcio Marques might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Horaţiu Petran. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiburcio Marques ran back to his position shaking his head. Tiburcio Marques could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Horaţiu Petran made a huge save. Fırat Aytekin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erwin Bienvenu in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute, S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Tiburcio Marques dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Tiburcio Marques kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Horaţiu Petran. That made the score 5-0 in the 44 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zoltán Varga was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Nildo Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nildo Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fırat Aytekin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Walmir Breckenfeld in the 53rd minute. Gyál United's Horaţiu Petran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiburcio Marques in the 55th minute of play. After some careless play in the Gyál United defense, Tiburcio Marques kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horaţiu Petran. The Gyál United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horaţiu Petran should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd minute of the match, Konstantinos Kroustallis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fırat Aytekin saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Tiburcio Marques might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Horaţiu Petran. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiburcio Marques ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Marques in the 64th minute of play forced Gyál United's goalkeeper Horaţiu Petran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fırat Aytekin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ignác Mayer in the 66th minute of the match. Tiburcio Marques blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Horaţiu Petran having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Marques in the 72nd minute of play forced Gyál United's goalkeeper Horaţiu Petran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's Fırat Aytekin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zoltán Varga in the 75th minute of play. Tiburcio Marques spun around in front of the goal 87 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Gyál United's goal. In the 89th match minute, Gyál United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miklós Páncsics to maneuver through the defense. Konstantinos Kroustallis struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Fırat Aytekin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gyál United. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zoltán Varga in the 95th minute of play forced S.C. Corinthians Paulista's goalkeeper Fırat Aytekin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. S.C. Corinthians Paulista's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
