The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 2 minutes, Thurl Kelly managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Garadice's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thurl Kelly was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Thurl Kelly managed to get in a good position for a shot. Garadice's supporters rose to their feet, but Thurl Kelly was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Salim Yahia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Garadice's Thurl Kelly was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 7th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Thurl Kelly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 14 minutes, Smail Morceli mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Phantom Troops FC and the Garadice players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to The Phantom Troops FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Smail Morceli hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abdel Karim Drioueche in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flannery Perth saved Garadice from getting behind. When The Phantom Troops FC's Nassim Labi in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Garadice's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thurl Kelly during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of The Phantom Troops FC booed when Garadice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thurl Kelly didn't get a good kick on the ball. Breen Todd succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 29th playminute. Garadice's Flannery Perth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abdel Karim Drioueche in the 33rd minute of play. In the 33rd match minute, Garadice was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bard Ghee to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Abdel Karim Drioueche managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Phantom Troops FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Abdel Karim Drioueche was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flannery Perth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Salim Yahia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thurl Kelly in the 48th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
54 minutes into the match, Breen Todd notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of The Phantom Troops FC's Salim Yahia. Salim Yahia was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 57th minute, Breen Todd ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Salim Yahia was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. In the 65th minute, Abdel Karim Drioueche got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nassim Labi struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Flannery Perth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Phantom Troops FC. Thurl Kelly scored 5-2 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Salim Yahia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 77 minutes, Nassim Labi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The Phantom Troops FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nassim Labi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute Thurl Kelly shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Salim Yahia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the last second Flannery Perth throw himself and got hold of the ball when Nassim Labi in the 83rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Salim Yahia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Breen Todd in the 86th minute of play. Abdel Karim Drioueche received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Flannery Perth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Abdelkader Khaled fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flannery Perth having to interfere. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Garadice's goalkeeper Flannery Perth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Flannery Perth came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by The Phantom Troops FC's Nassim Labi. But to his dismay, Nassim Labi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-3.
