The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The crowd rose to their feet as Nathaniel Burnett kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cayetano Rito. That made the score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. Rogério da Silva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Cayetano Rito made a huge save. Cayetano Rito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nathaniel Burnett in the 7th minute of play. Cayetano Rito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathaniel Burnett, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. Nathaniel Burnett blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Cayetano Rito having to make a save. 10 minutes into the match, Paulopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Nathaniel Burnett came free, but Cayetano Rito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner led to Imbituba - FSCMZ's Rogério da Silva getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 20th minute, Nathaniel Burnett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cayetano Rito was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Cayetano Rito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathaniel Burnett, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Sidney Motta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dieguinho Amaral in the 27th minute of the match. In the 29th minute, Nathaniel Burnett ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cayetano Rito was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After 32 minutes of play, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Nathaniel Burnett made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cayetano Rito was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 40th minute, Dieguinho Amaral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nathaniel Burnett might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cayetano Rito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nathaniel Burnett ran back to his position shaking his head. Paulopolis's Cayetano Rito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathaniel Burnett in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Paulopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ruy Carneiro to maneuver through the defense. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nathaniel Burnett to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Rogério da Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cayetano Rito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 53 minutes Paulopolis's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Pedro Luís Fonseca who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Imbituba - FSCMZ's corner Pedro Luís Fonseca fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Cayetano Rito quite easily take care of the ball. After a rather tough play, Imbituba - FSCMZ's 温浩康 got a free kick in the 55th minute. Nathaniel Burnett's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cayetano Rito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Cayetano Rito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nathaniel Burnett, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute Nathaniel Burnett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cayetano Rito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Paulopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Nathaniel Burnett came free, but Cayetano Rito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paulopolis's goalkeeper Cayetano Rito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 67 minutes of play, Imbituba - FSCMZ's Nathaniel Burnett made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cayetano Rito was left in no man's land by his defense there! Imbituba - FSCMZ's Ademar de Mendonça was substituted for Nathaniel Burnett. Imbituba - FSCMZ's Válbson Pimenta got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Rogério da Silva notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Paulopolis's Cayetano Rito. Cayetano Rito was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cayetano Rito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogério da Silva in the 79th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute of the match Imbituba - FSCMZ got a corner. Paulopolis's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pedro Luís Fonseca ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Pedro Luís Fonseca almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Paulopolis's Cayetano Rito did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tostão Trigo in the 84th minute of play forced Paulopolis's goalkeeper Cayetano Rito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cayetano Rito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válbson Pimenta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Válbson Pimenta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cayetano Rito was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Luís Paulo Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Pedro Luís Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cayetano Rito having to interfere. Cayetano Rito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válbson Pimenta in the 93rd minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Válbson Pimenta made a precise shot to the right of Cayetano Rito. Paulopolis's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-0.
