The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The Romando Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas should have stopped the shot. After 13 minutes of play, Juventus EC's Walmyr Loyola made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bilbo Arzube made an important save on a dangerous shot by Niva Bellido in the 23rd minute. 32 minutes into the match, Romando Futebol Clube's Niva Bellido sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bilbo Arzube narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 34 minutes into the match, Juventus EC's goal looked a bit too open when Niva Bellido came free, but Bilbo Arzube reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomm Thys made in the 35th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Romando Futebol Clube's Juninho Paulista. Bilbo Arzube stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Niva Bellido's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Romando Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Walmyr Loyola came free, but Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Niva Bellido took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Bilbo Arzube to make any attempt to save it. After 47 minutes, Magno de Moraes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Juventus EC and the Romando Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. Magno de Moraes hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. Juventus EC's Nilson Leite was substituted for Luís Ramalho. A collision led to Juventus EC getting a freekick after 49 minutes play. Magno de Moraes hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Niva Bellido made the kick off in the second half. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Perez in the 53rd minute of play. Bilbo Arzube showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Niva Bellido, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niva Bellido in the 62nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bilbo Arzube prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 63rd minute Leopoldo Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Romando Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Abel Vargas hit a great ball. Romando Futebol Clube's Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Romando Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rosendo Gervaso in the 72nd minute of play. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas was a little too slow when Leopoldo Perez got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 76th minute. The score was now 3-3. Rosendo Gervaso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th match minute, Juventus EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Elo Altoft to maneuver through the defense. Niva Bellido took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bilbo Arzube. Bilbo Arzube dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-3. 94 minutes into the game, Romando Futebol Clube's Niva Bellido nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bilbo Arzube made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-3. Rubén-Osvaldo Cousillas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fran Yeste, who was totally free with the ball in the 98th minute.
