After 3 minutes of play, Costa Rica's Reiner Fallas made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Svetaslav Navojka was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Reiner Fallas in the 5th minute of play forced Belarus's goalkeeper Svetaslav Navojka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind Belarus's goalkeeper Svetaslav Navojka, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 8 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Leo Calvo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Svetaslav Navojka made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. With an all-out effort, Costa Rica's Svetaslav Navojka threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Reiner Fallas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 12 minutes into the match, Belarus's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Luna came free, but Svetaslav Navojka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Frank Mora took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pilip Mikhailov, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 23 minutes in the game, Reiner Fallas fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Svetaslav Navojka having to interfere. Jorge Luna scored 3-0 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Svetaslav Navojka, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Jorge Luna got a free kick in the 30th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aurelio Badilla in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Svetaslav Navojka prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Svetaslav Navojka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aurelio Badilla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Belarus's Svetaslav Navojka proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Belarus from getting a goal against them. Frank Mora showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vadim Borisenko, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 38th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giovanni Lehman to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Belarus booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brian Chaverri didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Aurelio Badilla got a free kick in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aurelio Badilla to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Leo Calvo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Svetaslav Navojka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leo Calvo took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Svetaslav Navojka. Svetaslav Navojka dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. Frank Mora was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Pilip Mikhailov showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-1 in the 55 minute of play. Jorge Luna might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Svetaslav Navojka. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Luna ran back to his position shaking his head. 63 minutes into the match, Svetaslav Yanchyk had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frank Mora. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Svetaslav Yanchyk was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Costa Rica made a substitution. Alfonso Mejias replaced Aurelio Badilla. Svetaslav Navojka showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Luna, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Svetaslav Navojka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Luna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Svetaslav Navojka stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jorge Luna's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. 75 minutes into the match, Belarus's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Luna came free, but Svetaslav Navojka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Svetaslav Navojka came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Alfonso Mejias. But to his dismay, Alfonso Mejias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-2. Costa Rica's Dennis Vilchez was substituted for Antonio Picado. The audience was convinced that Alfonso Mejias's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Svetaslav Navojka was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. Svetaslav Navojka came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Costa Rica's Jorge Luna. But to his dismay, Jorge Luna quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-2. In the 89th minute, Chunche Montero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Belarus's Marat Lebedev in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Costa Rica's Jorge Luna got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Costa Rica's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
