After a defensive mix-up in Salmonella's zone, Mouloud Merbah stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sérgio Velloso came out of the goal and Mouloud Merbah tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 7thth minute of the game Adrianinho Hoffmann who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Preston AFC's Belaid Zitouni was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 13 minutes, Luís Fabiano Marinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salmonella and the Preston AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Salmonella getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Luís Fabiano Marinho hit a great ball. In the 14th minute of the match Nasreddine Larbes shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sérgio Velloso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Zé Augusto Correia scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Belaid Zitouni, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Bellemou Sellal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sérgio Velloso. That made the score 1-1 in the 20 minute of play. Sérgio Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camel Bessou in the 24th minute of play. In the 27th match minute, Preston AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bellemou Sellal to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Preston AFC's Camel Bessou fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. With a little luck, Salmonella's Sérgio Velloso got control of the ball when Hamid Azem tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adrianinho Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute, Adrianinho Hoffmann left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Salmonella fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 42 minutes into the match, Hamid Azem notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Salmonella's Sérgio Velloso. Sérgio Velloso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Abderrahmane Morceli hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mustapha Asma in the 47th minute of play forced Salmonella's goalkeeper Sérgio Velloso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Camel Bessou made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Hamid Azem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Velloso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matías Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belaid Zitouni having to interfere. 56 minutes into the game, Mustapha Asma cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-2. Sérgio Velloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 59 minutes into the match, Camel Bessou had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sérgio Velloso. Salmonella's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Camel Bessou was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Sérgio Velloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Camel Bessou in the 63rd minute of play. 65 minutes into the game, Adrianinho Hoffmann recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Belaid Zitouni. Adrianinho Hoffmann showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-3. The Preston AFC fans' excitement grew in the 68th match minute when Preston AFC's Hamid Azem looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 5-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After some careless play in the Salmonella defense, Mustapha Asma kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sérgio Velloso. The Salmonella fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sérgio Velloso should have stopped the shot. Adrianinho Hoffmann did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 6-4 to the left of a surprised Belaid Zitouni 79 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Camel Bessou managed to get in a good position for a shot. Preston AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Camel Bessou was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sérgio Velloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 84 minutes into the match, Hamid Azem had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sérgio Velloso. Salmonella's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hamid Azem was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-4. Sérgio Velloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mustapha Asma, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Salmonella's Sérgio Velloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamid Azem in the 92nd minute of play. Luisinho Barreto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Belaid Zitouni having to interfere. After some careless play in the Preston AFC defense, Luisinho Barreto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Belaid Zitouni. The Preston AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Belaid Zitouni should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Preston AFC had won after a very even match.
