In the 14th minute, Cássio Maia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atilano Feo kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting de Gijón from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Zeng Xu Yuan put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Óscar Cordoba. Óscar Cordoba made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Zeng Xu Yuan sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Diego Maradona in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck José Maria Goiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Óscar Cordoba made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Jon-Egil Schjelderup sent off a good shot on target. Zeng Xu Yuans short, quick shot in the 41stth minute got Óscar Cordoba to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba got control of the ball when Zeng Xu Yuan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Saturnino Curcio hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Óscar Cordoba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kalle Billberg in the 45th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Wayne Rooney replaced Alejandro Rufo. When Sporting de Gijón's Diego Maradona in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matias Bilintx got free with José Maria Goiano in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Poetass FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Jon-Egil Schjelderup hit a great ball. José Maria Goiano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Diego Maradona went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 80th match minute, Poetass FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jon-Egil Schjelderup to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Poetass FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Jon-Egil Schjelderup hit a great ball. José Maria Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Maradona, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Witalis Brysz in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Óscar Cordoba prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zeng Xu Yuan in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Óscar Cordoba saved Sporting de Gijón from getting behind. In the 96thth minute of the game Witalis Brysz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sporting de Gijón's Óscar Cordoba was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Sporting de Gijón booed when Poetass FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jon-Egil Schjelderup didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 98 minutes, Saturnino Curcio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sporting de Gijón's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saturnino Curcio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
