Firman Morientes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ilie Scripcaru read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Firman Morientes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ilie Scripcaru was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. FC Steaua București's Ilie Scripcaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilbert Reix in the 10th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Firman Morientes in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ilie Scripcaru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 13th minute, En Avant Nikko's Firman Morientes dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Ilie Scripcaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilbert Reix, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Silvestre Derwin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicodim Nicopol went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Ilie Scripcaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Firman Morientes, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After 20 played minutes Gösta Sellberg rounded FC Steaua București's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-1. Gösta Sellberg scored 4-1 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ilie Scripcaru, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 26 minutes into the match, Manuel Souris had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ilie Scripcaru. FC Steaua București's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Manuel Souris was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. After 32 minutes of play, En Avant Nikko's Gösta Sellberg made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ilie Scripcaru was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ilie Scripcaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilbert Reix in the 37th minute of the match. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Steaua București's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Albert Harbuz was slow to take the kick. During this time En Avant Nikko's players had a chance to rest. En Avant Nikko's Firman Morientes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ilie Scripcaru in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gösta Sellberg who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 41stth minute tested the skills of Ilie Scripcaru when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With an all-out effort, En Avant Nikko's Ilie Scripcaru threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Firman Morientes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 47 minutes into the match, En Avant Nikko's goal looked a bit too open when Francisc Ionițoiu came free, but Silvestre Derwin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-1.
After 53 minutes, Firman Morientes made it 7-1 with a short kick to the right side. FC Steaua București's Ilie Scripcaru tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After 56th play minutes Firman Morientes shot 8-1, a short shot which went by Ilie Scripcaru and just under the crossbar into goal. Ilie Scripcaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilbert Reix, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in En Avant Nikko fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 61st minute. Penalty! Silvestre Derwin had in the 64thth minute some difficulties stopping Dan Iovanovici's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. A collision led to FC Steaua București getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Horaţiu Hobjilă hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 9-1 when Firman Morientes sped through FC Steaua București's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ilie Scripcaru. In the 76thth minute of the game Gilbert Reix who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Steaua București's Ilie Scripcaru was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 77 minutes into the match, FC Steaua București's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Reix came free, but Ilie Scripcaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ilie Scripcaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Firman Morientes in the 80th minute of play. Ilie Scripcaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Souris, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. A nice corner shot did that Albert Harbuz got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ilie Scripcaru quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ilie Scripcaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manuel Souris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Firman Morientes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Ilie Scripcaru tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 91 minutes into the game, En Avant Nikko's Manuel Souris nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ilie Scripcaru made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 10-1. Ilie Scripcaru came out of the goal in the 98th minute to try and stop a shot by En Avant Nikko's Firman Morientes. But to his dismay, Firman Morientes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 11-1. En Avant Nikko walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
