Spectators: 10300 (Terracing: 7725, Seating: 2369, VIP seats: 206) Denmark's Svend Betz started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Svend Betz in the 3rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Georgi Mihaylov, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Svend Betz's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Georgi Mihaylov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bulgaria's goalkeeper Georgi Mihaylov, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanislav Búlgarov in the 17th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Nils Elmhuus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Georgi Mihaylov came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Denmark's Svend Betz. But to his dismay, Svend Betz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Georgi Mihaylov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svend Betz in the 22nd minute of play. In the 27th minute, Stanislav Búlgarov got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Minko Gorolomov was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 33rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Svend Betz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Georgi Mihaylov. Bulgaria's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Svend Betz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Danny Grønnow came free with the goalkeeper in the 38th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Georgi Mihaylov could save by the left post. 41 minutes into the game, Denmark's Svend Betz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Georgi Mihaylov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Minko Gorolomov made in the 45th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Stanislav Georgiev immediately put the ball in play. Georgi Mihaylov made a fantastic save in the 48th minute, when Danny Grønnow sent off a good shot on target. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Stanislav Búlgarov to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Svend Betz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georgi Mihaylov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Georgi Mihaylov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Danny Grønnow in the 58th minute of the match. Georgi Mihaylov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Svend Betz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denmark were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after Bulgaria's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Paw Carbac took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Randy Bastard heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. If Marko Ruskov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Denmark's Sigismund Ravnskjold was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Georgi Mihaylov in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Martin Rana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 97th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee ended the match the Denmark players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
