Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Elpidio Francis kicked off to start the match. Branislav Velchevski came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Sporting de Gijón's Diego Maradona. But to his dismay, Diego Maradona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Branislav Velchevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Venancio Emesto, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. 14 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Maradona came free, but Branislav Velchevski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Elpidio Francis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Óscar Cordoba. That made the score 1-1 after 17 minutes of play. Elpidio Francis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Óscar Cordoba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute Elpidio Francis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Óscar Cordoba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eustacio Loiola kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Elpidio Francis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Óscar Cordoba was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. 41 minutes into the game, Diego Maradona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Branislav Velchevski was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 46th minute of the match, Elpidio Francis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Óscar Cordoba saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Elpidio Francis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Óscar Cordoba having to make a save. Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Francis in the 47th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA made a substitution. André Monclús replaced Elpidio Francis. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Matias Bilintx to strike the kick off in the second half. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Branislav Velchevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diego Maradona in the 76th minute of play. In the 79th minute Matias Bilintx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Branislav Velchevski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
