Spectators: 5149 (Terracing: 3862, Seating: 1184, VIP seats: 103) The supporters of Panama booed when Malaysia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Best didn't get a good kick on the ball. 7 minutes into the match, C.J. Sharp dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Corral, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolás Gomez in the 17th minute of play forced Malaysia's goalkeeper Widodo Reza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Widodo Reza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicolás Gomez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fadhly Haryanto-Ie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Pedro Villalaz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Villalaz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Widodo Reza breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Humberto Escobar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Widodo Reza read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. With his leg Julio Corral managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Malaysia's Fadhly Haryanto-Ie fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Widodo Reza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Villalaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Pedro Villalaz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Widodo Reza was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Humberto Escobar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and C.J. Sharp made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Panama's Nicolás Gomez got a free kick in the 54th minute. Julio Corral stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fadhly Haryanto-Ie's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. In the 67th minute Humberto Escobar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Widodo Reza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humberto Escobar in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Widodo Reza saved Malaysia from getting behind. In the 70th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicolás Gomez to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Nicolás Gomez hit a great ball. After a good free kick, C.J. Sharp got an opportunity to smash the ball into the goal, but unfortunately, the ball went just outside the goal, which resulted in a goal kick for Panama. Widodo Reza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Escobar, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Widodo Reza successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 76 minutes into the match, Malaysia's goalkeeper Widodo Reza had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Humberto Escobar. Panama's Julio Corral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Best in the 80th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolás Gomez in the 87th minute of play forced Malaysia's goalkeeper Widodo Reza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paijo Prima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kitam Sinuraya kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match.
