Spectators: 1028 (Terracing: 772, Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) Thananiti Cheewawipat made the kick off and thus started the match. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Thailand was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sontaya Peerapattana didn't get a good kick on the ball. Chunche Montero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 5th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sitthachat Jampeehom. Thailand's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. With a little luck, Costa Rica's Frank Mora got control of the ball when Thananiti Cheewawipat tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alberto Davila hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Frank Mora made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Thananiti Cheewawipat sent off a good shot on target. In the 19th minute Aurelio Badilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sitthachat Jampeehom saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aurelio Badilla in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sitthachat Jampeehom saved Thailand from getting behind. 24 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's Reiner Fallas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sitthachat Jampeehom narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Frank Mora came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Thailand's Thananiti Cheewawipat. But to his dismay, Thananiti Cheewawipat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Jorge Luna recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aurelio Badilla made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Costa Rica's Jorge Luna dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. In the 56th minute of the match, Leo Calvo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Sitthachat Jampeehom saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Thananiti Cheewawipat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Frank Mora tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thailand's Thananiti Jaiyen was substituted for Ratthapong Kongkaew. Thailand's Wonsakon Choonama was substituted for Sontaya Peerapattana. After a rather tough play, Thailand's Jakkapan Jomsak got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Costa Rica's Alain Duarte was substituted for Giovanni Lehman. A collision led to Thailand getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Jakkapan Jomsak hit a great ball. In the 65th minute of the match, Reiner Fallas got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sitthachat Jampeehom was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. A collision led to Thailand getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Wonsakon Choonama hit a great ball. In the 68th match minute, Thailand was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wonsakon Choonama to maneuver through the defense. Frank Mora came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Thailand's Thananiti Cheewawipat. But to his dismay, Thananiti Cheewawipat quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Frank Mora showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thanan Javaus in the 82nd minute of the match. Jorge Lunas short, quick shot in the 86thth minute got Sitthachat Jampeehom to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Thailand's Sitthachat Jampeehom played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Luna in the 90th minute of play. Frank Mora took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Watee Hangpit, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
