After a defensive mix-up in India's zone, Benjamin da Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Anyuna Parab came out of the goal and Benjamin da Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of India booed when Brazil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marquinhos Xande didn't get a good kick on the ball. India made a substitution. Subhash Paranjpe replaced Dhritiman Judge.

The wind increased when Benjamin da Fonseca made the kick off in the second half. Isaac Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Subhash Paranjpe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 76th minute Rafa de Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anyuna Parab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, India's goal looked a bit too open when Maurinho Mendonça came free, but Anyuna Parab reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
