Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Leandro Heidemann kicked off to start the match. After 4 played minutes Brazil got a freekick which was hit by Lothar Matthäus. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leandro Heidemann in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Johnny Ibarra saved Ecuador from getting behind. After having played for 10 minutes, Flavio Cifuentes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flavio Cifuentes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 14 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Flavio Cifuentes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Isaac Ferreira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 20 minutes into the match, Brazil's goalkeeper Isaac Ferreira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Flavio Cifuentes. The audience was convinced that Benjamin da Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Johnny Ibarra was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. It was a well-played corner which Lothar Matthäus managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Brazil was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafa de Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador made a substitution. Obregón Pardemanos replaced Flavio Cifuentes. Brazil's Rodrigo Trigo was substituted for Celsinho Perez. Ecuador made a substitution. Lorenzo Acutain replaced Urko Solbeida. After a rather tough play, Brazil's Rafa de Almeida got a free kick in the 65th minute. Johnny Ibarra made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Leandro Heidemann sent off a good shot on target. After 93 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Umbruso Salvadios. The Brazil players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
