Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tony Mohamed in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paul Ramon prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tony Githinji Muhoho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Basilio Picardo in the 28th minute. Tony Githinji Muhoho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chumo Salces in the 30th minute of play. In the 31st minute Jonathan Onyii shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Ramon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tony Githinji Muhoho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juan Manuel Vargas, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. The audience was convinced that Tony Mohamed's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paul Ramon was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Tony Githinji Muhoho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Basilio Picardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Tony Githinji Muhoho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Basilio Picardo went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Joe Kimutai's late challenge caught a Peru's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joe Kimutai helped the player get up and apologised. In the 45th match minute, Kenya was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joe Kimutai to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Basilio Picardo to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Kenya's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Bonet came free, but Tony Githinji Muhoho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kenya's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bard Bom was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After a rather tough play, Kenya's Francis Kariuki got a free kick in the 91st minute. 92 minutes into the match, Kenya's goal looked a bit too open when Fe Nestares came free, but Tony Githinji Muhoho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tony Githinji Muhoho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Bonet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Peru fans cheered their team off the field, for while Kenya had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
