Seating: 236, VIP seats: 20) In the 3rd minute, Ervigio Ojeda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 6 minutes into the match, Dominican Republic's goal looked a bit too open when Ervigio Ojeda came free, but Jesús Caminero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 13 played minutes Dominican Republic got a freekick which was hit by Hernán Diaz. In the 18th minute of the game Horacio Carbonari made a throw-in which Emilio Rael played forward. Jesús Caminero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ervigio Ojeda, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. In the 28th minute, Bautista Marcó hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enrique Enoch was a little too slow when Jeremias Stewarts got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 1-0. Jesús Caminero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ervigio Ojeda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Dominican Republic getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Bruno Melillo hit a great ball. Enrique Enoch was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Jeremias Stewarts capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jeremias Stewarts really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.
Dominican Republic made a substitution. Clemente Cisneros replaced Alvar Ponce. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ervigio Ojeda in the 65th minute of play forced Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Jesús Caminero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emilio Rael sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chile made a substitution. Thomas Cochrane replaced Ervigio Ojeda. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Maria Píriz got free with Jesús Caminero in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 81stth minute of the game Jeremias Stewarts who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Enrique Enoch was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Costa in the 86th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Enrique Enoch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 87 minutes, Celso Barrientos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dominican Republic and the Chile players grew even worse after the yellow card. When Emilio Rael fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dominican Republic's protests and gave Emilio Rael a yellow card for diving instead. Emilio Rael hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlo Darrigrande in the 94th minute of play forced Dominican Republic's goalkeeper Jesús Caminero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Maria Píriz struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Jesús Caminero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chile. Many of Chile's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Chile may have spent more time on the ball, but Dominican Republic were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
