If Alain Berset had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alain Berset scored 1-0 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cankut Wakabayashi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 14th minute, Turgut Soyuer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Turkey fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 19 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goal looked a bit too open when Tevfik Hunalp came free, but Sepp Mainville reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tevfik Hunalp in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sepp Mainville prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Turkey's Turgut Soyuer got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cankut Wakabayashi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alain Berset, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alain Berset in the 34th minute of play forced Turkey's goalkeeper Cankut Wakabayashi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sepp Mainville showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Turgut Soyuer, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Cankut Wakabayashi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alain Berset in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Turgut Soyuer in the 41st minute of play forced Switzerland's goalkeeper Sepp Mainville to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roman Koenig made in the 46th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Turkey's Tevfik Hunalp.

Turkey's Ahmet Boran Aktay managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jonas Herz in the 70 minute of the game. 76 minutes into the match, Neron Veterini notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Turkey's Cankut Wakabayashi. Cankut Wakabayashi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aydın Tor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Sepp Mainville made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ramazan İlker got free with Sepp Mainville in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd play minute Aydın Tor came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sepp Mainville. 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Turkey's zone, Neron Veterini stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cankut Wakabayashi came out of the goal and Neron Veterini tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sepp Mainville was out of position in the 88 minute of play, and Ramazan İlker capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ramazan İlker really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Neron Veterini managed to get in a good position for a shot. Switzerland's supporters rose to their feet, but Neron Veterini was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cankut Wakabayashi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 94 minutes into the match, Switzerland's goalkeeper Sepp Mainville had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aydın Tor. Aydın Tor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Sepp Mainville made a huge save. The Turkey supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Turkey would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
