Russia's Polikarp Miheev played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Šedina in the 61st minute of play. Polikarp Miheev made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Petr Anton sent off a good shot on target. If Parfen Babarykin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Czech Republic's Alois Selinger was substituted for Jan Plocek. After a defensive mix-up in Russia's zone, Alois Selinger stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Polikarp Miheev came out of the goal and Alois Selinger tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Czech Republic's Dragan Horčička was substituted for Michal Stehno. Petr Anton might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Polikarp Miheev. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Petr Anton ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Czech Republic getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Alois Selinger hit a great ball. 82 minutes into the match, Czech Republic's Alois Selinger sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Polikarp Miheev narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Polikarp Miheev made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robert Šedina in the 90th minute. When Petr Anton came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Czech Republic fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petr Anton couldn't finish the play. Robert Šedina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Polikarp Miheev made a huge save. Czech Republic's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
