With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lech Pisarcik in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Taavi Hulkkonen saved Finland from getting behind. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Poland's goalkeeper Daniel Kieca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Tadeusz Raschke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Poland were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after Finland's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lech Pisarcik took the corner.
