Seating: 1184, VIP seats: 103) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Hólmfastur Óskarsson kicked off to start the match. A collision led to France getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Faudel Dagorne hit a great ball. Tobías Gunnarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Petr Čech having to interfere. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joël Willaume in the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th minute Jocelyn Care shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Petr Čech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Izard in the 12th minute of play. Petr Čech showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tobías Gunnarsson in the 14th minute of the match. Maelgwn Le Bars showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hólmfastur Óskarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. When Össur Ármannsson came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Iceland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Össur Ármannsson couldn't finish the play. In the 23rd minute Tobías Gunnarsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faudel Dagorne in the 24th minute of play forced Iceland's goalkeeper Petr Čech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Níls Margeirsson's late challenge caught a France's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Níls Margeirsson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 32nd minute, Níls Margeirsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Iceland getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Viggó Ólafsson hit a great ball. Iceland's Petr Čech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jocelyn Care in the 34th minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Iceland's goal looked a bit too open when Jocelyn Care came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petr Čech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Izard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When France's Samuel Izard in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Iceland's goalie prevented a goal. After 39 minutes, Samuel Izard made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Petr Čech made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tobías Gunnarsson in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Petr Čech prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maelgwn Le Bars showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hólmfastur Óskarsson in the 46th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
Iceland's Kristmundur Knútsson was substituted for Viggó Ólafsson. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tobías Gunnarsson to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Iceland's goalkeeper Petr Čech, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kristmundur Knútsson hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. After 60 played minutes Jocelyn Care scored with a long sweeping shot just to the left of Petr Čech who was too lazy, 0-4. In the 63rd minute, France's Samuel Izard dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. France made a substitution. Carlos Taillade replaced Faudel Dagorne. 69 minutes into the match, Iceland's goal looked a bit too open when Harold Combettes came free, but Petr Čech reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iceland's Petr Čech proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Iceland from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vélaugur Óskarsson in the 84th minute of play forced France's goalkeeper Maelgwn Le Bars to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Samuel Izard scored 0-7 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Petr Čech, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Samuel Izard got free with Petr Čech in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 95 minutes into the match, Iceland's goalkeeper Petr Čech had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Samuel Izard. France's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
