Merdan Abesadze fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Greid Tinsmith having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Georgia's goal looked a bit too open when Naw Kean came free, but Valeri Zabelin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute Wales were awarded a corner. Anynnawg Hunt went to the cornerflag to take it. Georgia's Valeri Zabelin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naw Kean in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Emiriev Pawletko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Botchia Anghelache in the 32nd minute of play forced Wales's goalkeeper Greid Tinsmith to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wales's Greid Tinsmith played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Botchia Anghelache in the 34th minute of play. Nodens Charlton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valeri Zabelin having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Botchia Anghelache made the kick off in the second half. Naw Kean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Valeri Zabelin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wales made a substitution. Syvwlch Lloyd replaced Naw Kean. Georgia made a substitution. Giorgi Gogava replaced Giorgi Lekov. Wales's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anynnawg Hunt in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the game, Soso Cheishvili cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Greid Tinsmith was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a defensive mix-up in Wales's zone, Bakhar Mkheidze stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Greid Tinsmith came out of the goal and Bakhar Mkheidze tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th minute Botchia Anghelache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greid Tinsmith saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Soso Cheishvili in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Greid Tinsmith prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Georgia were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Wales's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Bakhar Mkheidze took the corner. A sloppy throw-in by Emiriev Pawletko in the 86th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Wales's Mawrth Hamill. Emrys Hannah charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Emrys Hannah the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 92 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Wales! Wales:s Greid Tinsmith showed great skill when he stopped Botchia Anghelache:s penalty. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Georgia had played much better football throughout.
