The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Albania's Marjus Laçka played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benediktas Kučinskas in the 4th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Algitas Kaščiukaitis in the 23rd minute of play forced Albania's goalkeeper Marjus Laçka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes in the game, Algitas Kaščiukaitis dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Marjus Laçka took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulius Rožėnas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marjus Laçka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulius Rožėnas in the 26th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Benediktas Kučinskas in the 31st minute of play forced Albania's goalkeeper Marjus Laçka to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Benediktas Kučinskas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marjus Laçka was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 37 minutes into the match, Albania's goal looked a bit too open when Paulius Rožėnas came free, but Marjus Laçka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Lithuania's goal looked a bit too open when Nderim Pepo came free, but Kęstutis Raziulis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute Ilmi Duka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kęstutis Raziulis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 45 played minutes Albania got a freekick which was hit by Fatbardh Malko. Marjus Laçka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liudvikas Karitonas in the 46th minute of play. A collision led to Albania getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Fatbardh Malko hit a great ball. Liudvikas Karitonas struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Marjus Laçka didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lithuania. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benediktas Kučinskas to strike the kick off in the second half. Kęstutis Raziulis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nderim Pepo in the 51st minute of play. After taking down the ball on Albania's corner Nexhat Shaho fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Kęstutis Raziulis quite easily take care of the ball. Albania's Marjus Laçka proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Albania from getting a goal against them. In the 55th minute Algitas Kaščiukaitis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marjus Laçka saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marjus Laçka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Algitas Kaščiukaitis in the 57th minute of play. Albania's Vibar Vërçuni was substituted for Marjus Dragoti. Lithuania made a substitution. Nexhat Shaho went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Albania's Kristi Koçiu to fire away a dangerous shot which Kęstutis Raziulis despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Kristi Koçiu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 69th minute of the match, Algitas Kaščiukaitis tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marjus Laçka saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Paulius Rožėnas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Marjus Laçka made a huge save. 77 minutes into the match, Albania's goalkeeper Marjus Laçka had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulius Rožėnas. Marjus Laçka made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulius Rožėnas in the 80th minute of play. In the 81st minute Kristi Koçiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kęstutis Raziulis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lithuania's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Nexhat Shaho ran over to the corner to take the kick. 85 minutes into the match, Kristi Koçiu notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Lithuania's Kęstutis Raziulis. Kęstutis Raziulis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Marjus Laçka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vygantas Petrošius in the 91st minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
