Erling Lewandowski's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 16thth minute, Hans-Jürgen Pötscher skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher came out and tried to block the shot, but Erling Lewandowski slotted it home off the left post making it 4-1 in the 43rd minute. After 48 minutes Austria's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sotiris Alexandropoulos who took care of the corner kick. Sotiris Alexandropoulos made a great header on Greece's corner, it was just that Austria's Hans-Jürgen Pötscher managed to reach the ball for a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adrian Meinhardt made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hans-Jürgen Pötscher was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. Jason Statham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 74thth minute of the game Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Austria's Hans-Jürgen Pötscher was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The throw-in from Horst-Peter Unterberger in the 75th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Greece's Eugenios Dimakis. Jason Statham was a little too slow when Adrian Meinhardt got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 5-2. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 83rdth minute of the game Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Austria's Hans-Jürgen Pötscher was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chatziantoniou Vakoufaris took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hans-Jürgen Pötscher. Hans-Jürgen Pötscher dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-2.
