Óscar Cordoba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Neil Mcinnes in the 19th minute of the match. Diego Maradona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diego Maradona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Erivaldo Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 40 played minutes SANTOS FC- FDFDF got a freekick which was hit by Edvaldo Motta. 41 minutes into the match, SANTOS FC- FDFDF's goal looked a bit too open when Diego Maradona came free, but Erivaldo Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sporting de Gijón's Carlo Crema was substituted for Venancio Emesto. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Neil Mcinnes to strike the kick off in the second half. After taking down the ball on SANTOS FC- FDFDF's corner Carlos Teles fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Óscar Cordoba quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Neil Mcinnes in the 68th minute of play forced Sporting de Gijón's goalkeeper Óscar Cordoba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of SANTOS FC- FDFDF booed when Sporting de Gijón was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wayne Rooney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sporting de Gijón made a substitution. Carolo Ovando replaced Alejandro Rufo. After 80 played minutes Sporting de Gijón got a freekick which was hit by Wayne Rooney. 84 minutes into the game, Eustacio Loiola threw the ball into play from the sideline. SANTOS FC- FDFDF's Silvério do Valle quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The audience was convinced that Neil Mcinnes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Óscar Cordoba was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. 88 minutes into the match, Saturnino Curcio notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of SANTOS FC- FDFDF's Erivaldo Catarinense. Erivaldo Catarinense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
