The audience was convinced that Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hayyam Rasi was relentless in the 3rd minute of the game. A collision led to Berni y Benja FC getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Mateo Peruxu hit a great ball. Berni y Benja FC's Hayyam Rasi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul in the 7th minute of play. In the 8th minute of the match FC Lugano got a corner. Berni y Benja FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pattharawut Sirikeartkumjorn ran over to the corner to take the kick. FC Lugano's Pattharawut Sirikeartkumjorn was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hayyam Rasi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Berni y Benja FC's Hayyam Rasi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vico Sticher in the 10th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, FC Lugano's goalkeeper Godo Gøl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonatan Martxot. Silvano Geofredo hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. When FC Lugano's Qiao Jian in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Berni y Benja FC's goalie prevented a goal. Hayyam Rasi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Qiao Jian, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Qiao Jian in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hayyam Rasi saved Berni y Benja FC from getting behind. With a little luck, FC Lugano's Godo Gøl got control of the ball when Jonatan Martxot tried to sneak it across the goal line. Qiao Jian scored 0-2 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hayyam Rasi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half FC Lugano were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jonatan Martxot to make the kick off. When Vico Sticher fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Lugano's protests and gave Vico Sticher a yellow card for diving instead. Aaron Mel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Godo Gøl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvano Geofredo in the 57th minute of play. After 58 played minutes FC Lugano got a freekick which was hit by Teddy Racine. After a rather tough play, FC Lugano's Teddy Racine got a free kick in the 59th minute. The supporters of Berni y Benja FC booed when FC Lugano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Qiao Jian didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Qiao Jian in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hayyam Rasi saved Berni y Benja FC from getting behind. After 67 played minutes Berni y Benja FC got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Fertus. After 68 played minutes Berni y Benja FC got a freekick which was hit by Atilano Fertus. Qiao Jian's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 70thth minute, Hayyam Rasi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Qiao Jian fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hayyam Rasi having to interfere. Berni y Benja FC's Hayyam Rasi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul in the 74th minute of play. In the 75th minute Qiao Jian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hayyam Rasi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gian-Carlo Van Den Maagdenberg in the 78th minute of play forced Berni y Benja FC's goalkeeper Hayyam Rasi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 79th minute of the match, Qiao Jian got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hayyam Rasi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Hayyam Rasi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Silvano Geofredo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Berni y Benja FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvano Geofredo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Godo Gøl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Qiao Jian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hayyam Rasi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qiao Jian in the 88th minute of the match. In the 90th minute of the match Gian-Carlo Van Den Maagdenberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hayyam Rasi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Apolo Aurken came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Berni y Benja FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Apolo Aurken couldn't finish the play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Lugano walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
