In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Lugano's goalkeeper Godo Gøl, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leonardo Paz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon in the 16th minute of play. Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonardo Paz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khachonkiat Pornsaptaveekoon in the 20th minute of the match. FC Lugano's Godo Gøl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tuncer İribaş in the 22nd minute of play. A collision led to FC Lugano getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Gregor Wirth hit a great ball. Fenerbahçe's Leonardo Paz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Fenerbahçe from getting a goal against them. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Leonardo Paz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Fenerbahçe's Leonardo Paz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul in the 41st minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Qiao Jian in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonardo Paz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Uğurcan Oğuzalp hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Leonardo Paz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 48th minute Nathongchai Borwongovitsakul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Paz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Qiao Jian made a kick off. FC Lugano walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
