Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Oskar Nyström started the match with the kick off. Toronto FC were furious when Lenny Berger was red carded, 4 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 4th match minute, Toronto FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lenny Berger to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute, Abraham Mejia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Greger Lindmark was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hervé Watson in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Greger Lindmark prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Greger Lindmark made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hervé Watson in the 23rd minute of play. In the 32nd match minute, Malmö FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kent Öman to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the match, Krister Jonasson notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Toronto FC's Papillion Cheek. Papillion Cheek was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Toronto FC's zone, Östen Johnsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Papillion Cheek came out of the goal and Östen Johnsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Papillion Cheek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Östen Johnsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 44 minutes, Oskar Nyström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Malmö FF and the Toronto FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 44 played minutes Malmö FF got a freekick which was hit by Oskar Nyström. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oskar Nyström in the 45th minute of play forced Toronto FC's goalkeeper Papillion Cheek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abraham Mejia to make the kick off. Greger Lindmark didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abraham Mejia went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Toronto FC's Papillion Cheek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Toronto FC from getting a goal against them. Papillion Cheek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oskar Nyström, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Abraham Mejia kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Papillion Cheek made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Krister Jonasson sent off a good shot on target. After 72 minutes of play, Malmö FF's Krister Jonasson made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Papillion Cheek was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 75th minute Östen Johnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Papillion Cheek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute of the match Kyle Souplet shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Greger Lindmark showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Krister Jonasson got free with Papillion Cheek in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vilhelm Vollander kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Abraham Mejia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Greger Lindmark saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Despite being the better team, Malmö FF failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
