A beautiful save bye Ｕｎｉãｏ Ｓｐｏｒｔ Ｃｌｕｂｅ Ｐａｒｅｄｅｓ's goalie prevented a goal. In the 14th minute Ladislao Erramu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin van der Sar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ladislao Erramu scored 2-0 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edwin van der Sar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 25 minutes into the match, Ｕｎｉãｏ Ｓｐｏｒｔ Ｃｌｕｂｅ Ｐａｒｅｄｅｓ's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Erramu came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Ｕｎｉãｏ Ｓｐｏｒｔ Ｃｌｕｂｅ Ｐａｒｅｄｅｓ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Manuel Castelain ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Mexico's Ladislao Erramu getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Jerónimo Furtado took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cornelio Villegas. Cornelio Villegas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Edwin van der Sar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ladislao Erramu, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Ladislao Erramu might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin van der Sar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ladislao Erramu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 47th minute Leukothoe Atsidakos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cornelio Villegas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ladislao Erramu to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Ladislao Erramu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edwin van der Sar was relentless in the 57th minute of the game. 60 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Leopoldo Gaxan came free, but Cornelio Villegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Ｕｎｉãｏ Ｓｐｏｒｔ Ｃｌｕｂｅ Ｐａｒｅｄｅｓ's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Erramu came free, but Edwin van der Sar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexico's Leonardo Tipi was substituted for Ladislao Erramu. 76 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Cornelio Villegas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leukothoe Atsidakos. The crowd rose to their feet as Leukothoe Atsidakos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cornelio Villegas. That made the score 2-5 in the 78 minute of play. 85 minutes into the match, Leopoldo Gaxan dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Cornelio Villegas, 2-6. Cornelio Villegas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jerónimo Furtado in the 93rd minute. Marcos Arano took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edwin van der Sar. Edwin van der Sar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-6. Ｕｎｉãｏ Ｓｐｏｒｔ Ｃｌｕｂｅ Ｐａｒｅｄｅｓ's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
