Soda Stereo FC Unplugged's Orlando Iratzeder played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Ramos in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Santa Fe booed when Soda Stereo FC Unplugged was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacobo Astrada didn't get a good kick on the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Steve Rogers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Orlando Iratzeder. Soda Stereo FC Unplugged's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Steve Rogers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After a rather tough play, Soda Stereo FC Unplugged's Roman Pudes got a free kick in the 18th minute. After 24 minutes, Carmelo Tiniebra made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Soda Stereo FC Unplugged's Orlando Iratzeder tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luis María Guadalupe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Orlando Iratzeder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orlando Iratzeder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmelo Tiniebra in the 32nd minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Santa Fe's goalkeeper Serafino Pancho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guido Perez. A collision led to Soda Stereo FC Unplugged getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Evaristo Unai hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Santa Fe's Godofredo Rik was substituted for Rolando Madaleno. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carmelo Tiniebra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Santa Fe's Carmelo Tiniebra in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Victor Cordeal hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Vinicio Vigil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Steve Rogers took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Orlando Iratzeder to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carmelo Tiniebra got free with Orlando Iratzeder in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Serafino Pancho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guido Perez, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carmelo Tiniebra in the 84th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orlando Iratzeder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 87th minute Guido Perez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serafino Pancho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carmelo Tiniebra who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Orlando Iratzeder when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 90th match minute, Soda Stereo FC Unplugged was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evaristo Unai to maneuver through the defense. In the 94th minute Carmelo Tiniebra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orlando Iratzeder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Soda Stereo FC Unplugged defense, Juan Fernando Pratto kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Orlando Iratzeder. The Soda Stereo FC Unplugged fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Orlando Iratzeder should have stopped the shot. Santa Fe played a much better game than Soda Stereo FC Unplugged and deserved their victory. The Soda Stereo FC Unplugged players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
