In the 14th minute, New England Minas's Mete Ferro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 19th minute Cory Kirkland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarrett Rosenberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 20 played minutes Cosmos Soccer Club got a freekick which was hit by Federico Maia. If Cory Kirkland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 29 minutes Cosmos Soccer Club's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Clinton Caballero who took care of the corner kick. New England Minas were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Cosmos Soccer Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Clinton Caballero took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Rashad Velasquez managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The crowd rose to their feet as Mete Ferro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jarrett Rosenberg. That made the score 4-0 in the 35 minute of play. Jarrett Rosenberg was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Chris Cabezon capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Chris Cabezon really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mete Ferro in the 43rd minute of play forced Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Jarrett Rosenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Cosmos Soccer Club's goal looked a bit too open when Cory Kirkland came free, but Jarrett Rosenberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mete Ferro to make the kick off. After 78 played minutes Cosmos Soccer Club got a freekick which was hit by Grant McKay. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cory Kirkland in the 81st minute of play forced Cosmos Soccer Club's goalkeeper Jarrett Rosenberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nicky Cavazos charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Jarrett Rosenberg didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when New England Minas's Mete Ferro shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 8-0 in the ordered_time% minute. After 95 minutes of play, New England Minas's Chris Cabezon made it 9-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jarrett Rosenberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. New England Minas fully deserved thier win.
