New England Minas were awarded a corner in the 23th minute after El Canalla de Chicago's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Clinton Caballero took the corner. The corner ended in Clinton Caballero almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but El Canalla de Chicago's Bart Villanueva did a great save. 25 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Rudolf Pendleton came free, but Martin Markusson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bart Villanueva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chris Cabezon in the 26th minute. In the 30th minute, Rudolf Pendleton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lazaro Ragsdale's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Martin Markusson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, New England Minas's goal looked a bit too open when Martin Tuttle came free, but Martin Markusson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, New England Minas's Diogo Yurin got a free kick in the 43rd minute. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Chris Cabezon took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Bart Villanueva to make any attempt to save it. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The supporters of New England Minas booed when El Canalla de Chicago was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolf Pendleton didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Chris Cabezon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bart Villanueva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Yurin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 78th match minute, New England Minas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fletcher Lund to maneuver through the defense. El Canalla de Chicago's Lazaro Ragsdale managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jarod Hester in the 79 minute of the game. When Martin Tuttle fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Canalla de Chicago's protests and gave Martin Tuttle a yellow card for diving instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Cabezon in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bart Villanueva saved El Canalla de Chicago from getting behind. In the 90th minute, Diogo Yurin made a precise shot to the right of Bart Villanueva. El Canalla de Chicago's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. New England Minas were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of El Canalla de Chicago for a fine match.
