The throw-in from Emmanuel Akers in the 17th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by San Antonio HotSPURS's Seth Kirkpatrick. Simon Stover blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bart Villanueva having to make a save. San Antonio HotSPURS's Seth Kirkpatrick managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Emmanuel Akers in the 23 minute of the game. The supporters of El Canalla de Chicago booed when San Antonio HotSPURS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Seth Kirkpatrick didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26thth minute of the game Caleb Roberts who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but El Canalla de Chicago's Bart Villanueva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bart Villanueva, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sanford Patterson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rudolf Pendleton in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

San Antonio HotSPURS made a substitution. Jasper Tidwell replaced Seth Kirkpatrick. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rudolf Pendleton was the one to do the kick off. Bart Villanueva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Stover in the 52nd minute of the match. 59 minutes into the game, Rodger Mejia threw the ball into play from the sideline. San Antonio HotSPURS's Jasper Tidwell quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Caleb Roberts's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bart Villanueva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play.
