With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alysson Rezende prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Murilo Maranhense lost his temper 35 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Michel Neuer had in the 37thth minute some difficulties stopping Jerônimo Vergílio's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Ogro F.C.'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jerônimo Vergílio in the 42nd minute. A nice corner shot did that Jerônimo Vergílio got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Michel Neuer quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when He Xiao Ao stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The corner led Ogro F.C.'s Nicko McBrain to fire away a dangerous shot which Michel Neuer despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
